- The World Health Organization (WHO) has compiled a list of disorders that acupuncture treats effectively based on reviews of controlled clinical trials. This list will happily keep growing as more and more research is being conducted, and western medical science becomes more attuned to noticing subtle changes in human beings that have acupuncture needles in them.
